BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
After completing his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude at Baldwin-Wallace University, Steve went on to obtain his JD and MBA degrees as part of a four-year joint program with the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Immediately after graduate school, Steve joined the mergers and acquisitions group of a large industrial manufacturer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve later moved back home to Pittsburgh and joined the Pittsburgh division of a national health care consulting firm.
Steve joined H2R CPA in 2019, and currently leads all aspects of H2R CPA’s Business Valuation & Litigation Support practice. Steve conducts valuations for a variety of purposes, including estate, gift, acquisition, corporate planning, regulatory compliance and litigation support. He also serves as a financial expert in matrimonial litigation cases. Steve is experienced in valuing companies of all sizes, from lower middle market companies in a variety of industries to professional sports teams, in western Pennsylvania and throughout the U.S.
In August 2020, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) recognized Steve as one of its 40 Under Forty financial consulting professionals. In June 2023, Steve was elected to the Ethics Oversight Board (EOB) of NACVA. The EOB has eight members from across the United States and is charged with the monitoring of NACVA’s membership and certificants with regard to ethical and professional standards.
In August 2023, Steve obtained the Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) credential. Successful candidates must meet training and experience requirements set forth by the NACVA and pass a 400-question proctored exam. Steve plans to use the credential to continue to provide the highest quality of service to H2R CPA’s business valuation and litigation support clients.
